Santorini
The official name of this Greek island is Thira. It's an active volcano, one of the 16 Decade Volcanoes, and was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history. Santorini is a complex of islands and consists of eight smaller ones (Thira, Thirasia, Palaia Kameni, Nea Kameni, Aspronisi and the three islands of Christiana). Due to volcanic ash soil and microclimate, the island is an agricultural paradise. Santorini is popular for its indigenous grape variety, Assyrtiko, as long as for other less-known grape varieties, the famous dessert wine Vinsanto, fava beans, caper, tomatoes, its caldera, spectacular sunsets and those are only a few to mention.
